Candice Chu

Dr. Candice P. Chu earned her DVM from National Taiwan University, followed by a PhD in veterinary pathology and clinical pathology residency training at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Before her current role, she served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pathology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her research applies artificial intelligence, machine learning, and genomic technologies to improve diagnostic precision and develop non-invasive tools for conditions like acute pancreatitis and glomerular diseases in dogs. Her work integrates data science and pathology to enhance veterinary diagnostics and education, with a focus on one-health solutions connecting animal and human health.

She authored the review article: ChatGPT in veterinary medicine: a practical guidance of generative artificial intelligence in clinics, education, and research and has served as an invited and keynote speaker on AI at major conferences, including ACVP, ACVIM, AVMA, and ACVR. Recently, she was nominated to join the AVMA Task Force on Emerging Technologies and Innovation.
